‘Colita. Antifémina

Feminism. The exhibition vindicates a project launched by photographer and writer Maria Aurèlia Capmany, who created what is considered the first openly feminist graphic book of the Transition era.

Despite the fact that the publisher quickly withdrew it from the market, Antifémina became a critical protest book with cult status.

Years later, Colita herself and the director of her Archive and curator of the exhibition, Francesc Polop, came back to the project and the book was reissued and published in 2021 by the Terranova publishing house and Barcelona City Council.

The exhibition vindicates the validity of the book's denunciations and reflections, and through it, that of two courageous, intellectual women, who fought to dignify womanhood and to speak openly about feminism.
