Exhibition: 'BioMARató 2023: Beaches with life’

Back

Do you think that the beach is merely an extension of the city? And that the city ends where the sea begins? The urban coastline is a natural space, a nexus between the city and wild nature, yet it is also fragile. Come discover the diverse range of marine species which can be found just a few metres from where you lay down your towel. This selection of 30 photographs by users of the citizen science platform MINKA is proof of how city residents can play a crucial role in monitoring the biodiversity of the coast.

Activity in conjunction with the EMBIMOS of the Institute of Sea Sciences (ICM-CSIC), the Catalan Subaquatic Activities Federation (FECDAS), Anèl·lides, Marine Environmental Services, Plàncton Diving and the European INKE, ANERIS, ECS and GUARDEN projects .
