The projects of Isaías Griñolo (Huelva, 1963), visual artist, film-maker and curator, address antagonistic matters and practices through connections between memory, ecology, flamenco, art and poetry.
Since 2011 he has been developing the multi-disciplinary project historia_contemporánea , which has been presented at various museums and national and international spaces such as Secession (Vienna), Auguste Orts (Brussels), the Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris) and the MNCARS (Madrid).
One of his most significant projects is Las fatigas de la muerte / MEP , as well as the film essays La España profunda (de Ortega y Gasset a Rocío Jurado) (2018), Auschwitz on the beach (2019) and 135 – 47 = 88 (2021). In live cinema he has produced Cantes tóxicos , a series of pieces for the Los Flamencos collective, with the poet Antonio Orihuela and the cantaor Niño de Elche.
