'Mesures extraordinàries'

Back

Theatre. Mercè Arànega, Francesc Ferrer and Mia Sala-Patau perform this comedy by Carmen Marfà and Yago Alonso.

Synopsis

What is there after death? Expense. Toni knows that perfectly well. His father has just died, but that’s not the only bad news for the family: they haven’t got enough money to pay for the funeral. Toni doesn’t know how to explain the situation to his mother, Aurèlia, and with the help of his daughter Emma he tries to carry out the only plan that occurs to him: to bury his father himself.

Mesures extraordinàries is a light-hearted criticism of how much it costs to die. It also talks about dignity. About the legacy our parents leave us and how we give back to them what they have given us. About rituals, the importance they have for society and how they give cohesion to families, whatever they are like.

A light-hearted reflection about death, differences between the young and the elderly when it comes to dealing with it and the importance of saying farewell.
