‘Grand Canyon’

Theatre. A play by Sergi Pompermayer, directed by Pere Arquillué, about the possibility of starting anew.

Synopsis

One sweltering summer night in a town in inland Catalonia, an immigrant prostitute working the street witnesses a fatal accident following a party in the house of a politician who is a member of a powerful family from Barcelona's bourgeoisie.

That same night, Ruby, an eighteen year old trap singer, has problems with the law.

Her father, Pere, a man in his fifties who in his youth wanted to be a rock star and who now earns a living carrying out repairs on farms and houses, experiences an unexpected twist in his life which makes him see that he is a nobody who has never achieved any of his dreams.

One of these dreams was to take a trip along Route 66 to the Grand Canyon with his wife and daughter. A dream he thinks he’ll never get to realise. However, an unexpected visit makes him see that it's never too late, and that even the smallest person can bring down the greatest and pave the way for those who come after. And Pere embarks on a journey of no return. With the Grand Canyon on the horizon.

En aquest espectacle podreu viure la màgia d’unes veus per descobrir i d’uns excel·lents instrumentistes que entrellaçaran les seves interpretacions en duets, trios i formacions inèdites fins ara. Un espectacle únic i irrepetible.
