Traditional and modern sounds come together in a performance that weaves music and migration. Born from this year’s community project, it features artists from the Trinitat neighbourhood, like those performing on stage. Freestyle and rap improvisation, complete with beatboxing (mouth-made sounds that turn the voice into another instrument), bring in modern rhythms. But what happens when you mix them with traditional instruments like the pan flute or the quena? You’ll hear what true fusion sounds like – songs with lyrics that tell stories of migration and identity. Each performer brings their voice, their story and their roots to the stage, building a bridge between past and present. Come on the final day, and the session will last twice as long (one hour) and include some dances.
