Flower art. The rose garden is open to the public so everyone can visit and vote for their favourite roses.
The 25th edition of the International New Rose Competition will be taking place from 9 to 11 May 2025 in the Parc de Cervantes rose garden.
The competition coincides with the first rose bloom and awards prizes to the best new specimens created by rose breeders from around the world, based on the judgement of a prestigious international jury.
The Barcelona competition is part of an international circuit. This year's competition features 27 rose breeders from Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, USA, France, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Holland, Poland and Switzerland. The competition categories are hybrid, floribunda, landscape, groundcover, miniature and creeping.
The expert jury is made up of around sixty internationally renowned specialists. The new roses are also judged by participating schools and the Barcelona Council for the Elderly as well as citizens who visit the rose garden in the Parc de Cervantes on the days the competition is being held.
