Brain Film Fest 2025 - International film festival about the brain

Back

Cinema. Mental health, cinema and neuroscience in a series of forty productions and activities about the mysteries of the brain and contemporary anxiety.

The fear that moves us is the main focus of the 8th edition of the Brain Film Fest, which is being held from 12 to 16 March at the CCCB.

Through cinema, we will be analysing how contemporary concerns affect different generations and discovering what tools we have to overcome them.

The programme includes 11 feature-length films and 21 short films in two official competition sections.

The round tables and workshops will expand the cinematographic experience, exploring fear as a human tool for survival and a driving force for change.

Documentary film maker Nicolas Philibert, winner of the special award at Brain Film Fest 2025 and author of the transformative trilogy on mental health filmed in psychiatric centres in Paris, will be picking up his award on 12 March at the festival's inaugural event, where there will also be a screening of his latest film The Typewriter and Other Headaches.

Admission is free with prior booking, except for workshops.
