Swab Barcelona 2026

Back

Contemporary art. An independent art fair, experimental platform and meeting point for emerging artists and galleries.

The 19th Swab Barcelona, the International Independent Art Fair, is being held from 8 to 11 October at the Palau Victòria Eugènia, located at the Fira Barcelona-Montjuïc site.

The fair brings together over 180 artists, presented by more than 60 exhibitors, with a broad range of self-managed spaces from 22 different countries.

The public programme includes talks on intangible collecting, non-monetary markets, a lottery of artistic items and some family workshops.

On this occasion, Swab Barcelona goes further in its transformational commitment before the climate crisis and the current social and political situation, with the aim of aligning art dimensions that have traditionally been isolated.

The fair questions the commercial vision of modernity and promotes a concept of collecting that articulates the tangible with the intangible, prioritising the context, process and function of art as a tool for social and political compromise before contemporary challenges.
