700th Anniversary of Pedralbes Monastery

Culture. The site is commemorating the seventh centenary of its foundation with cultural and public engagement activities until 2027, bringing its history closer to the public.

The Reial Monestir de Santa Maria de Pedralbes is marking this year the 700th anniversary of its foundation by King Jaume II and Queen Elisenda de Montcada.

The anniversary celebrations will begin on 26 March and run until 3 May 2027, with a programme of activities integrated into the museum’s programme. There will be exhibitions, concerts, tours, family activities, storytelling sessions, workshops, conferences, study days, publications and various projects, such as research into the tombs from the founding period.
