Themed cycle: ‘Llums, càmera i cinema’

Film. Five Wednesdays between January and April, to get a first-hand insight into the aspects that make audiovisuals work in both narrative and technical fields.

The cycle Llums, càmera i cinema [Lights, camera and film] is on at the Biblioteca Xavier Berenguel from 17 January to 4 April.

Over five sessions, the cycle offers an analysis of the function of sound and setting up scenes through to the assembly process, including the narrative structures of successful products such as the disaster films of the 1970s and omnipresent True Crime works.

Sessions:

  • Wednesday, 17 January: Narration and context in 1970s disaster films. By Daniel Agudo, professor in audiovisual narrative at the ESCI-UPF and the CFGS for Videogame Creation at the Sant Marc School, Sarrià.
  • Wednesday, 7 February: Introduction to directing photography. By Pedro Valero, director of photography.
  • Wednesday, 28 February: Introduction to set creation. By Pedro Valero, director of photography.
  • Wednesday, 13 March: Introduction to sound. By Laia Picón, sound designer.
  • Wednesday , 4 April: Why does ‘True Crime’ get us hooked? By Daniel Jariod, documentalist and professor in film analysis at the ESCAC (UB), the Faculty of Audiovisual Communication (UB) and the ECIB.
