Theatre. The king loses is way when he realises he is unable to distinguish real love from feigned love.

Synopsis

The story of a mad king is nothing new. It's a classic tale. As is the multi-layered story told in Shakespeare's King Lear, which combines two plots – one mirroring the other – that travel in parallel. Stories are repeated, and even more so if we include the re-presentation itself.

And in 'Reiterat Rei Tarat' I wanted above all to focus on one of the main themes of the original work: the madness into which the king descends (as does Gloucester in the mirror plot) when he realises that he has not been able to distinguish between feigned love and true love. "It is easier to accept fake compliments that flatter us than to accept uncomfortable truths that hurt us". - Jordi Oriol
