‘Carn humana’

Back

Theatre. The play combines dark humour and psychological tension to talk ironically and lucidly about the values, limits and contradictions of our times.

Synopsis

The main characters, Màrcia and Ramon, care for Mirko, a Bosnian boy they adopted five years ago. But odd things start to happen during their daily life: objects that multiply, unexplained phenomena, situations that defy all logic. Convinced that the boy is “special”, the couple fall into a delirious spiral that puts their faith, principles and relationship to the test.

The play proposes an agile and poignant dialogue that portrays two people who want to be good parents, but end up trapped by their own expectations and fears. The result is a dark and unsettling comedy: a story of the fragility of modern truths and the way we project our desires onto others.

Carn humana is a light-hearted reflection, with no moralism, on how capitalism and everyday urgency have altered human bonds.
