Family workshop. Delve into the mythological universe of Egyptian rituals, from the mummification process to reading hieroglyphics.

Did you know the ancient Egyptians believed in magic? Not the sort of magic with wands and rabbits appearing out of hats, but a more special kind of magic. We can find it in the sacred writings of the Egyptians, the famous hieroglyphics, and also in the pictorial representations full of colours in their tombs and their ritual elements. These formulas activated amulets, helped people get through tests to reach the beyond and even brought mummies back to life.

In the family workshop Magic and Mystery in Ancient Egypt you’ll be able to delve into the whole mythological universe of Egyptian rituals.

Sabies que els egipcis creien en la màgia? Però ep, que no estem parlant d'una màgia de varetes i conills que surten de barrets, sinó d'una més especial. Aquesta màgia la trobem en l'escriptura sagrada dels egipcis, els famosos jeroglífics, però també en les representacions pictòriques plenes de color de les tombes i en tots els seus elements rituals. Aquestes fórmules activaven amulets, permetien passar les proves per arribar al Més Enllà i, fins i tot, tornaven la vida a les mòmies!

Des del Museu us proposem un taller familiar en el qual ens endinsarem en tot aquest univers mitològic del ritual egipci, des del procés de momificació fins a la lectura i escriptura de jeroglífics!
