Film Library of Catalonia "The gold rush (Charles Chaplin, 1925)"

Back

Chaplin is in Alaska attracted by the gold rush and to leave behind his poor life as a wanderer. There, with two random companions, he will share a weak cabin that will insulate him from the cold and storms. Hunger and desperation will take over their lives. A stroke of luck, however, will make everything change: he will fall in love with Georgia and will have to choose between gold and love.

The restored copy will be screened on the occasion of the centenary of the film, made with materials from various film libraries, including the Filmoteca de Catalunya, which has collaborated with the loan of a fragment of an original copy from the time from the Pere Tresserra Collection.
