Cinema. A meeting place where science and society enter into dialogue through cinema, offering new perspectives and reflections on contemporary social and scientific challenges.

Taking place from 26 May to 6 June is the first edition of Ficcions de Ciència, a festival that aims to promote cinema as a vehicle for scientific expression and reflection.

In this regard, the festival is not just a space for showcasing science through film, it is also a platform where cinema, science and society feed off each other, creating an open and ongoing dialogue that enables us to better understand the world we live in.

The competition includes the screening of 19 short films as well as round tables and debates. There will be two official sections: Science and Society, and Science and Mental Health, which will explore the way in which science shapes the way we live, imagine and understand the world.

There will also be out-of-competition sessions, including the films Buscant el meu propi nom", by Pablo García Pérez de Lara, a film that denounces the institutionalisation of women during the Franco regime, and Cyborg Generation by David Morillo, which accompanies Kai Landre on a journey to transhumanism.
