Officially launched on 29 October 1901, the Tramvia Blau has been closely linked to the development of Mount Tibidabo and has become a prominent part of Barcelona’s historical memory, recognisable by its signature blue colour. To commemorate its 125th anniversary, tramcar number 5 will be on public display, and visitors will be able to step inside on Saturday, 31 October, from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, and on Sunday, 1 November, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

In addition, a public hot chocolate event, open to all, will be held in Plaça de John F. Kennedy.

The commemoration will continue over the weekend of 14 - 15 November, when the doors to the Tramvia Blau workshops will open, allowing the public to see this historic mode of transport once again.

TMB will also be issuing a special commemorative ticket to mark a century and a quarter of history.
