Verdi's Requiem

Back

Classical Music. A dialogue between life and death, between piety and transgression.

This concert, taking place on 3 and 4 November at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, promises to be the Requiem of the century, featuring extraordinary soloists who embody the dramatic expressiveness of the work.

Composed in memory of the poet Alessandro Manzoni, Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem is much more than a funeral mass: it is a spectacle of extreme passions and violent yet subtle contrasts, in which the choir and orchestra move between conflict and complicity, creating a soundscape of constant tension.
