Grec’25: ‘Entre la penombra i la llum’, Arooj Aftab and Mar Pujol

Back

Music. A double bill inviting us into two distinct yet complementary worlds, where music becomes a place of connection and transformation.

Night is Arooj Aftab's natural territory. A Night Reign, her fourth studio album, invites us on an introspective journey through desire. Through love and loss, through shadow and light. With influences from jazz, South Asian classical music, and experimental sparks, this artist moves forward, though without forgetting, the sorrow of her Grammy-winning album, Vulture Prince. Aftab sketches with everyday possibility landscapes that are both mysterious and revelatory, intimate spaces where the soul is stripped bare and renewed.

Opening the evening will be Mar Pujol, who transports us to a different kind of nocturnal landscape—closer, more familiar, yet just as evocative. Cançons de rebost [Songs from the Pantry], her first album, is a collection of pieces that feel like small moments preserved in time. Mar Pujol’s music exudes Mediterranean essence: the warmth of the land, the gentle breeze of its forests, and the serenity of the mountains. A fusion of folk and pop that returns us to our origins and to stillness, a small moment of calm and beauty amidst the noise of the world.
