Music. Investigative drive, oral nature and creation are the three areas making up the project ‘Pa’ by the Menorcan singer-songwriter.

With this music show, Anna Ferrer pays tribute to and ritualises the trade of the baking profession spanning four generations on her paternal side. With an extensive study of Menorcan and other types of music that enshrine the universe of bread, she uses this unique conceptual piece to conjugate art, craft, sensory beauty and philosophy.

As a primary element, universal form of nourishment and personal heritage, bread is a symbol of sacred communion and the mundane at the same time. It undoes hierarchy and patriarchy, transcending culture and class, which Anna Ferrer honours in this exercise conceived as a space for creation and for physical and magical food, as well as a sound, visual and poetic space.
