La Rambla, Vila del Llibre 2025

Books. The festival will pay tribute to filmmaker Ventura Pons and chronicler Lluís Permanyer, two illustrious Barcelona residents who recently passed away and who helped explain and project the city to the world.

The fourth edition of La Rambla, Vila del Llibre, from 12 to 14 December, will turn the promenade into a space for literary celebration and cultural memory.

The programme will combine routes, talks, presentations and a book market located in the Passatge De Bacardí.

The figure of Ventura Pons will be reviewed from multiple perspectives: his connection with literature, the portrayal of Barcelona in his filmography or his commitment to language and LGTBIQ+ rights. Collaborators of the filmmaker, actors and scholars will participate in various activities throughout the weekend.

The memory of Lluís Permanyer will focus on a special event at the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts, where historians and journalists will reflect on the profession of chronicler and the legacy of a voice that knew how to portray life in Barcelona like no other.
