14th Mostra de Cinema Italià de Barcelona (MCIB)

Cinema. Cinemas Verdi are dedicating a week to the best of the season’s Italian films, and admission is free of charge.

The 14th edition of the Mostra de Cinema Italià de Barcelona Festival (MCIB), is being held from 12 to 17 December.

The programme includes 10 unreleased feature films from 2025 screened at the biggest international festivals, 7 short films from the Settimana della Critica of the Venice Film Festival, and 2 classics dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Italy's most famous accountant, Fantozzi, as part of an event that will be presented by Anna Mazzamauro, the iconic female protagonist of the saga.

The guests of honour at this edition will be Sergi López, nominated for Best Actor at the European Film Awards for Sirat by Oliver Laxe; actress Aurora Quattrocchi, one of the most representative faces of Italian art house cinema; young actor Filippo Scotti, who will present Le città di pianura; and directors Leonardo Di Costanzo ( Elisa), Laura Samani ( Un anno di scuola), Carolina Cavalli ( Il rapimento di Arabella) and Riccardo Milani, who will open the festival for the second consecutive year with La vita va così.

Screenings are free, with limited capacity.

Tickets must be collected on the same day of each session.
