Theatre. The harsh reality of mental illness in adolescence

Synopsis

Two mothers and two teenage daughters tell their first-person stories about their experiences with mental health, as their daughters suffer from depression and an eating disorder for different reasons.

From the perspective of both generations, the piece addresses topics such as bullying, sexual abuse, the use of social media, self-image, self-harm, suicide and how mental health problems affect the entire family.

Together they embark on raw, cathartic journey where mental health is not glossed over or romanticised, but a message of hope is conveyed and, above all, the importance of asking for help.
