The Palau de la Música Catalana is an architectural gem of Catalan modernism, the only Modernista concert hall to be declared a World Heritage by UNESCO.

The Palau de la Música Catalana was built between 1905 and 1908, designed by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner as the headquarters of the Orfeó Català, funding with proceeds from the public subscription.

The Palau de la Música Catalana is an architectural gem of Catalan Modernisme, the only concert hall to be declared a World Heritage by UNESCO (4 December 1997). It currently provides an indispensable meeting point for Catalonia’s cultural and social life. In addition, it has also been turned into the symbolic and emotive heritage of an entire people that identifies itself with its history.

The building is organised around a metallic, glass-covered central structure, whose reception of natural light turns this extremely important work by Domènech i Montaner into a magical music box were all the applied arts merge: sculpture, mosaics, stained-glass and wrought iron.
