Homage to Eduardo Chillida

Contemporary art. Luis Chillida, the sculptor’s son, will be talking to the art historian Pilar Parcerisas and the documentary ‘Ciento Volando’ will be screened.

The FAD Association of Artists and Artisans (A-FAD) are paying homage to the Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida on Thursday, 12 June, at 6 pm. Chillida is a key figure in contemporary art, his profile and work going beyond frontiers.

His son, Luis Chillida, will be talking to the art historian Pilar Parcerisas. This will be a dialogue promising emotion and depth, an intimate perspective or the legacy of an artist who was able to hear the silence of materials.

Before the conversation, the A-FAD is offering a chance to let yourselves go with a screening of the documentary Ciento Volando, directed by Arantxa Aguirre. This piece is a poetic immersion to Chillida Leku, the open-air museum surrounding the Caserio de Zabalaga, a space where every corner breathes the soul of the artist.

L'Associació d'Artistes i Artesans del FAD organitza un homenatge sincer i sentit a l'escultor basc Eduardo Chillida, una figura clau de l'art contemporani amb una projecció que ha traspassat fronteres.

Luis Chillida, el seu fill, conversarà amb la historiadora de l'art Pilar Parcerisas. Serà un diàleg que promet emoció i profunditat, una mirada íntima al llegat d'un artista que va saber escoltar el silenci dels materials.

Abans de la conversa, l'A-FAD us proposa que us deixeu portar per la projecció del documental Ciento Volando (2024), dirigit per Arantxa Aguirre. Aquesta peça, produïda per A Contracorriente Films i Bixagu Entertainment, és molt més que un retrat audiovisual: és una immersió poètica a Chillida Leku, el museu a l'aire lliure que envolta el Caserio de Zabalaga, un espai que respira l'ànima de l'artista en cada racó.

El títol del documental s'inspira en una frase d'Eduardo Chillida: "Mai es coneix bastant, d'aquí ve que també en el conegut es trobi el desconegut." Una reflexió que resumeix molt bé l'esperit de la seva obra: un diàleg constant entre espai i temps, entre matèria i emoció, entre escultura, música i poesia.
