Inaugural celebration for the Biblioteca Sarrià – J. V. Foix

Community festival. Throughout the day there will be storytelling, dance and circus performances, theatrical readings, dancing by giant figures and various shows for all the family.

The inauguration of the new Biblioteca Sarrià – J. V. Foix (Plaça de Sarrià, 1) is on Saturday, 1 February, with a celebration and activities for all the family.

Programme:

  • 10.30 am. Itinerant family show: Rats, based on the traditional tale of The Pied Piper of Hamelin and performed by the Campi Qui Pugui company.
  • 11 am to 12 noon. Performances by the Coral del Centre Parroquial de Sarrià, the Escola Poeta Foix, the Castellers de Sarrià and the Grup Aband from the Escola Antàrtida in Plaça de Sarrià; storytelling organised by the Centro Asturiano and readings of the poetry of J.V.Foix by the theatre group J.V. Foix inside.
  • 11 am to 1 pm. Hot chocolate for all.
  • 12 noon. Inaugural ceremony, with the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni.
  • 1 pm. Show by the Celso i Frana company, inspired by the novel La lladre de llibres in the Carme Serrallonga i Calafell auditorium.
  • 4.30 pm. Itinerant family activity by the Campi Qui Pugui company: Cacos, followed by a storytelling session by Mon Mas: Quan hi havia gegants.
  • 5 pm. Tribute to the poet J. V. Foix featuring various people from the sphere of culture describing the connection between past, present and future through the legacy of Foix’s work, by Biblioteques de Barcelona, in collaboration with the Fundació J.V. Foix, in the Carme Serrallonga i Calafell auditorium.

Outside there will be performances by the folk group from the Escola Municipal de Música Can Ponsic, the Gegants i Drac de Sarrià, the Tabalers de Sarrià and the Diables i Diablets de Sarrià, the latter rounding off the day with a firecracker finale.

L’1 de febrer de a les 12.00 hores, tindrà lloc la inauguració de la nova Biblioteca Sarrià – J. V. Foix (Plaça de Sarrià, 1), un acte que anirà acompanyat d’una festa ciutadana i que comptarà amb la presència de l’alcalde de Barcelona, Jaume Collboni.

Aquesta festa d’inauguració arrencarà a les 10 del matí.

Durant tota la jornada hi haurà contacontes, actuacions de dansa i circ, lectures teatralitzades, ball de gegants i espectacles diversos per a tota la família, amb la participació de les entitats del barri.

En el marc de la jornada inaugural, en col·laboració amb la Fundació J. V. Foix, s’organitza un acte en homentage al poeta J. V. Foix, amb la participació de Vicenç Altaió, Tortell Poltrona, Frederic Amat, Laia Estruch, Víctor Sunyol, Toni Clapés, Cesc Gelabert, Gabriel Ventura i Rosa Tharrats.
