Festivals. The neighbourhood of La Sagrera is holding its local festival from 16 to 26 November.

As ever, the neighbourhood of La Sagrera is holding its autumn festa major this month, encouraging citizens to take to the streets and enjoy the extensive programme of acts in store.

Popular culture is on the agenda with a giants procession, featuring the giants Sagrerina, Rocabruna and La Rata. Human towers, sardana dancing, popular dances and the fire run by the devils and child devil’s groups will also feature. This year there is also a big festival dance, held for the first time in Plaça dels Jardins d’Elx, a havanera singing concert and children’s workshops. Music also plays a key role, with performances from the likes of the Balkan Paradise Orchestra, Encara Farem Salat, Miquel del Roig, Hora de Joglar, La Mulata and Hotel Cochambre.

The third edition of the ‘Flashmob – Fi de Festa’ will also be held, as will the first edition of the ‘SagrerARTS’ performing arts festival, with three shows in different squares in the neighbourhood. The celebrations also adhere to the municipal anti-sexism campaign with the slogan ‘A la Sagrera No és No’ [In La Sagrera No means No]. In collaboration with the festival commission and other neighbourhood entities, posters, badges and leaflets will be given out in festival spaces and there will also be an information point.

This year, the La Sagrera Fun Run also notches up its 40th edition, a milestone which also serves to remember the 25th anniversary of the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992.
